About Michael Schulman
Michael Schulman, also known as Swami of The Swami Gone Bananas Band, has been a musical staple of the rock and blues scene in Atlanta and all over the southeast, for over 30 years. Between his art and music, Michael has hosted a local AM radio show and has been the star of a biopic entitled “Ghostalkin” produced and directed by two CNN producers. Swami also had a brief cameo in the recently screened “The Northside Tavern” documentary. His art and creativity play a strong role in everything he touches. Michael Schulman has been commissioned to create a wide variety of designs, over the last 27+ years, by artists and bands such as The Grateful Dead, Santana, Little Feat, Rat Dog, Phil Lesh, and Furthur…just to name a few. These designs were used in varying formats such as t-shirt designs, backstage passes, calendars, decals, and the like. Swami and the Swami Gone Bananas band host a weekly Sunday gig at Swami’s home in Tucker. His home venue switches between his indoor drawing room location and his Double Secret Hot Tub Treehouse Theater backyard ampitheater-style location, both of which have been live-streamed weekly since May of 2020. Be sure to catch Swami Gone Bananas every Sunday online!
